Country Gardens and Landscapes were established in 2006 by company director Alex Colman. Alex has extensive experience in Landscaping and gardening after undertaking and completing an apprenticeship in Amenity Horticulture at Writtle College gaining an NVQ levels 2 and 3.

Alex then gained  comprehensive and detailed experience whilst working for a decade at a private country estate in Essex, serving as Head Gardener for three years, maintaining 10 acres of formal and vegetable gardens.

Alex also worked in the Forestry department, felling, planting and pruning trees, specific to the maintenance plans, leading him to gain his chainsaw licence. This career also included working with the Estates maintenance department performing repairs to the old house, creating new landscaped areas, footpaths, greenhouses, barns etc.

Recently Country Gardens and Landscapes have been featured in two editions of Gardeners World Magazine. We performed garden make over’s for two competition winners gardens specific to scale plans designed by TV presenter and garden designer Joe Swift. “We had to undertake all the hard landscaping for the projects whilst planting was added at a later stage by the owners.”
